Tonkolili District, Sierra Leone – In a bold step towards community transformation, Honourable Aaron Aruna Koroma, Deputy Opposition Leader II in the Sierra Leone Parliament, officially launched four significant development projects in Yoni Mamaila Chiefdom on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
The initiatives include a four-classroom school building in Kumrabai Yoni to enhance access to quality education, a modernized community barry in Royanka to serve as a hub for social and civic engagement, the reconstruction of a collapsed bridge linking Rochen Kamandao to Mathibo to improve transportation and trade, and a donation of a brand-new car wash machine to local youths operating along Bo Road, Mile 91, aimed at promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship.
During the ceremonial sod-turning at Kumrabai Yoni, Koroma expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the constituents for their trust and support, reaffirming his commitment to meaningful development. He reflected on his early years spent in the village, where he began his primary education, praising the community for its pivotal role in shaping his life and career.
The projects were warmly embraced by the youth and community stakeholders, who pledged their support for successful implementation. Young participants from the Mile 91 car wash expressed immense appreciation for the donation, calling it timely and impactful.
The ceremony was attended by other prominent lawmakers, including Honourable Aruna Papay Larkoh, Honourable Ing. Elder Daniel Fornah, and Honourable Ing. Daniel Amadu Bangura, highlighting a collaborative effort towards development and unity among representatives in Tonkolili District.
