In a significant move to bolster women’s advocacy and empowerment, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has donated a Land Cruiser vehicle to the Falaba District Women’s Network. This prominent advocacy group has positively impacted the lives of many young girls in Koinadugu and Falaba Districts.
The white Land Cruiser, a generous gift from the IRC, will facilitate the network’s travel within the district and enhance their outreach, particularly in remote areas that are otherwise difficult to access. This donation marks a crucial step forward for the Falaba District Women’s Network, improving their ability to support communities in need.
At the handover event, IRC Country Director Madam Fatmata B. Turay expressed her gratitude for the donation, stating, “I am truly delighted to receive this valuable gift from our donors and partners. Their continuous support has played a vital role in helping us implement our activities in Falaba District. This vehicle will make our movement within the district much easier and will strengthen our ability to reach communities in need.” The donation is vital for the network’s efforts to empower women and improve the lives of girls in these remote areas, enabling them to expand their outreach and positively impact even more young girls across both districts.
