Kabala Man Gets Two-Year Sentence for Tampering with EDSA Transformer

The Sierra Leone Police, Kabala Division, has secured a two-year jail sentence for Alie Marah, a resident of Cow-Yard, after he was found guilty of tampering with an Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) transformer in Bilmaia.

On October 13, 2024, Marah was arrested while in possession of equipment related to the EDSA transformer, prompting an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He faced charges of malicious damage to government property, aimed at disrupting electricity supply to the public.

Following a thorough prosecution at the Kabala Magistrate Court, Inspector Abdul Rahman Fofanah Esq presented strong evidence against Marah. Magistrate Hadiru Dabor delivered a guilty verdict, resulting in the two-year prison sentence.

CSP Ibrahim Barrie, Local Unit Commander of the Kabala Division, emphasized a commitment to law and order, declaring zero tolerance for acts of vandalism and lawlessness.
