Leonoil Company Limited and Sierra Rutile Limited (SRL) have both issued strong denials against recent false and defamatory allegations circulating on social media, asserting that the claims are misleading and without merit.
In a press statement released on February 2, 2025, Leonoil categorically rejected allegations made by Mohamed K. Mansaray, describing them as deliberate misinformation aimed at damaging its reputation. The company emphasized its commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical business practices, stating that it takes such attacks seriously and will not tolerate any attempts to undermine its credibility. Leonoil announced plans to pursue all available legal avenues against those responsible for disseminating what it termed “false and harmful statements.” It reassured stakeholders that its operations remain unaffected and will continue to deliver excellence in its services.
Similarly, Sierra Rutile Limited has refuted allegations regarding the acquisition of its parent company, Sierra Rutile Holdings Limited (SRX), by Leonoil. SRL clarified that Leonoil, a 100% Sierra Leonean-owned petroleum trading company, has no direct or indirect connection with Jos Leijdekkers, also known as “Bolle Jos,” and that neither SRX nor SRL has ever engaged with this individual.
The acquisition of SRX by Leonoil in September 2024 was conducted in strict compliance with all applicable Australian securities and anti-money laundering (AML) laws. The transaction underwent rigorous scrutiny by Australian regulatory authorities, including the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), with all financial processes validated as lawful.
SRL labeled the allegations as entirely false and defamatory, pledging to take legal action against any individuals or entities spreading these claims. The company urged the public to disregard these baseless assertions and to rely solely on official communications for accurate information.
Both Leonoil and Sierra Rutile reaffirmed their commitments to ethical business conduct and the importance of maintaining trust with their stakeholders.
