MOYA, Freetown February 12, 2026 Minister of Youth Affairs Hon. Ibrahim Sannoh met with Mr. Mirzet Müezzinoğlu, the Country Director of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), to strengthen youth development initiatives between Sierra Leone and Türkiye.
The meeting, characterized by a spirit of diplomacy and mutual respect, highlighted the strengthening collaboration aimed at empowering young people in Sierra Leone. Mr. Müezzinoğlu praised Minister Sannoh for his “visionary and result-oriented leadership,” acknowledging Sierra Leone’s growing visibility in global youth forums as a reflection of proactive government policies.
In a gesture of goodwill, the TİKA Country Director expressed gratitude to Minister Sannoh for being the first Sierra Leonean cabinet member to visit TİKA’s office. He described this visit as a significant step towards enhancing international cooperation.
“The visibility of Sierra Leone in global youth conversations is no accident,” Mr. Müezzinoğlu noted. “Your leadership has laid the groundwork for strong institutional relationships.”
Minister Sannoh reciprocated the sentiments, thanking TİKA for its ongoing support and articulating the importance of international partnerships in enhancing opportunities for youth. Accompanied by Director of Programs Mr. James Bondeva Sandi, Minister Sannoh underscored the Ministry’s dedication to transforming diplomatic discussions into actionable programs.
