Minister Tunis Strengthens Tourism Ties in Hamburg Meeting

Following the celebration of Sierra Leone’s National Day at the ITB in Berlin, a delegation led by Minister Nabeela F. Tunis traveled to Hamburg to engage with members of the Association of Sub-Saharan Tour Operators (ASA). This meeting marked a significant step in promoting Sierra Leone as a premier travel destination, sending a positive signal to the local and international tourism industry.

During the engagement, tourism representatives from Travel Marketing Romberg (TMR) GmbH, Mr. Tobias Hannemann and Ms. Louisa Schulz, delivered a detailed presentation showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and potential for tourism development. Their insights captivated the audience, emphasizing Sierra Leone’s unique offerings and its emerging status as a destination in West Africa.

Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Dr. M’baimba Lamin Baryor, highlighted the country’s commitment to welcoming visitors. In his opening remarks, he praised Sierra Leone’s reputation for hospitality and the ongoing efforts to elevate its tourism sector. He commended the tourism minister for her visionary leadership and dedication to reshaping the narrative surrounding Sierra Leonean tourism.
