The Ministry of Internal Affairs, in partnership with the Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is actively working to create a Strategic Plan for the years 2026 to 2030. The initiative involves engaging key security forces and stakeholders across various regions of Sierra Leone.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, a significant consultation was held at the Bo District Council Hall, bringing together a diverse group of participants to share their insights and perspectives on the future of the ministry.

Under the leadership of Morie Lengor Esq., the Minister of Internal Affairs, the consultations aim to ensure that the strategic plan reflects the needs and challenges of all stakeholders involved. In his address, Minister Lengor underscored the importance of regional consultations in shaping the ministry’s strategic direction.

“Freetown is not Sierra Leone,” he remarked, highlighting the need to understand the distinct dynamics and challenges faced beyond the capital. The minister reiterated that the primary objective of these consultations is to gather meaningful input from stakeholders, ultimately fostering improved outcomes in the strategic planning process.
