The Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation has formed a partnership with Kamara Yokie Innovation to advance artificial intelligence (AI), digital skills, and technological innovation in Sierra Leone.

In a recent meeting, ministry officials and representatives from the Kamara Yokie Innovation Center reviewed ongoing initiatives in robotics and STEM education, while also planning future programs for students nationwide.

One highlight of this collaboration is the upcoming National Robotics for Good Competition, set to take place in March 2026. This event will challenge students to devise robotics-based solutions for real-world problems, with the winning team earning the opportunity to represent Sierra Leone at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva.

The discussions underscored how this competition aligns with the Ministry’s broader mission to enhance AI awareness, digital skills, and introduce emerging technologies to children and young people. The Minister emphasized the need for coordination with national priorities as these programs move towards implementation.

This meeting is part of a series of stakeholder engagements designed to strengthen collaboration and facilitate information-sharing within Sierra Leone’s evolving technology and innovation landscape.
