By Kadijatu Bangura, Reporter, D.S.

The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has announced the issuance of tax clearance certificates to compliant taxpayers, as outlined in a press release dated April 8, 2025. The NRA emphasizes that only those who fulfill their tax obligations will be eligible to receive these certificates.

To clarify the compliance criteria, the NRA has provided several key points. Taxpayers are required to timely file or lodge returns for various taxes, including Corporation Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Withholding Tax (WHT), Rental Income Tax, and Payroll Tax through the Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS) Portal. Additionally, taxpayers must have settled any outstanding taxes in full to qualify for the clearance certificate.

The NRA stresses the importance of meeting these requirements to avoid delays in obtaining Tax Clearance Certificates. For further inquiries or assistance regarding tax status, the NRA encourages taxpayers to contact the Domestic Tax Department located at 11/13 Ecowas Street, Freetown.
