The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has issued an urgent reminder to mining companies, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) license holders, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), and media outlets, urging them to pay their outstanding dues without delay.
In its notice, the NRA warned that noncompliance with tax and non-tax obligations will trigger immediate enforcement actions. The authority strongly encourages all stakeholders in these sectors to address their financial responsibilities promptly.
According to the NRA, as outlined in Section 12 of the Finance Act, 2019, swift measures will be enacted to ensure compliance and recover owed revenues. Consequences for noncompliance may include sealing of business premises, garnishment of business accounts, and restrictions on international travel.
The NRA’s notice, issued on behalf of the Commissioner General, emphasizes the importance of immediate action by affected parties to avoid facing these stringent penalties.
