The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) mourns the passing of our esteemed elder brother and senior colleague, Commissioner James Bola Williams, affectionately known as Jay Willie. He departed this life in the early hours of Sunday, 31st August 2025, in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Mr. Williams served as the President of the Stroke Survivors Association and held the position of Assistant Secretary General of the Veteran Journalists Union (VeJU). He was also a respected member of the Guild of Newspaper Editors and had previously been a Board Member of the Independent Media Commission (IMC). His editorial expertise graced several newspapers, including Premier News, AWOKO, and Night Watch, among others.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May the Lord have mercy upon him and grant him eternal rest in Perfect Peace.
