Dr. Fatu Forna, Executive Director of the Mama-Pikin Foundation, has congratulated the inaugural cohort of locally-trained obstetrician-gynaecologists at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (Cottage) in Freetown. All eight enrolled students successfully graduated in October, achieving a remarkable 100 percent pass rate.

The new doctors have joined the Specialist Cadre of the African College of Surgeons after passing their final membership examinations, which were held from October 15 to 17. “On behalf of the entire Faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex and the management and staff of the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, I am proud to announce the 100 percent success of our Sierra Leone-trained Resident Doctors,” Dr. Forna stated.

She emphasized that this achievement was a result of teamwork and dedication, saying, “We are very proud of every single one of you.” Dr. Forna also expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Health for their trust in overseeing the course.
