Monime, a digital payment platform, has partnered with Orange Money, a mobile money operator, to launch KOLEKT, a comprehensive solution for payment collection. The launch event was held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Soriba Daffae, CEO of Monime, highlighted KOLEKT’s significance, stating it will simplify transactions for everyone in Sierra Leone. He explained that KOLEKT is an offline payment aggregation platform enabling small businesses to receive mobile money payments and bank transfers from customers.
David Samba Mansaray, CEO of Orange Money, praised the initiative, noting that it will help tackle the challenges faced by small and medium businesses in Sierra Leone. He emphasized the importance of financial transactions for business growth and expansion.
KOLEKT offers various tools for digital payments, including offline transactions through the KOLEKT card, WhatsApp notifications, and instant Orange Money settlement, with no charges for some SMEs. The platform aims to contribute significantly to Sierra Leone’s GDP and provide a platform for businesses to connect to the digital economy.
