Bo, Sierra Leone. The Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs is closely monitoring a tragic case involving the alleged murder of Sub-Inspector Magdalene Fatu Conteh, a female police officer found dead at her home in Bo City.

Preliminary reports indicate that the 16-year-old grandson of the deceased, identified as Shadrach David Sam, is the primary suspect in the alleged stabbing. Conteh, who served at the Police Hospital in Bo East Division, was discovered lifeless at her residence in C-Line, New Police Barracks, reportedly after being unaccounted for approximately three days.

During this time, the suspect had allegedly informed neighbors and relatives that Conteh was away in Pujehun for a workshop.

The Ministry expressed profound concern over the incident, noting that the Sierra Leone Police are actively investigating the matter. They pledged to provide psychosocial support to the family of the victim and stated they will remain engaged with the police as the investigation unfolds.

In a statement, the Ministry extended its “deepest condolences to the family, colleagues, and all affected by this tragic incident” and emphasized the need for swift justice as details continue to emerge.
