The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has officially dismissed Sergeant Musa Sidikie Swarray, an officer from the Mile 91 Division of the Operational Support Division (OSD), following his conviction for unlawful possession of illegal drugs, including six half-filled polythene bags of Kush. The decision comes after a thorough disciplinary hearing that upheld charges of misconduct.

An official memorandum from the Director of Professional Standards at Police Headquarters in Hastings detailed the disciplinary process, which was conducted under the Police Discipline Regulations of 2001. The case, referenced as CDIID CR/NO: D-169-11-2025, involved multiple charges, including improper practice and conduct detrimental to the integrity of the police force.

The disciplinary court found Sergeant Swarray guilty on four counts, which included failure to adhere to standing orders and actions contrary to police discipline. Following the court’s findings, the Director of Professional Standards affirmed the guilty verdict, resulting in Swarray’s immediate termination from the SLP.

“The defaulter is guilty on all four counts and is therefore dismissed from the Sierra Leone Police with immediate effect,” stated the memorandum.

In addition to the dismissal, the order directed the Administrative Officer at the Mile 91 Division to retrieve all police-issued items, including Swarray’s identification card and badges of authority. The Human Resources Department has also been instructed to update personnel records to reflect this dismissal.
