Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara has declared his bid for SLPP National Secretary General at Committee Room 1 in Parliament. During the engagement with SLPP members of parliament, he presented his comprehensive action plan for the party, pointing out the 4Rs: Respect, recognition, reward, and result, which clearly resonate with the party’s core values.
His vision for the SLPP is encapsulated in his commitment to fostering “A United, Viable, and Sustainable Party for 2028 victory.” ensuring that the SLPP remains the strongest political force in Sierra Leone that will consolidate the party’s gains and counter opposition challenges.
During the declaration statement, Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara acknowledged the strong leadership of President Bio setting a solid foundation for the party’s success. He articulated a compelling vision and action plan for the SLPP, accentuating his commitment to strengthening the party’s unity and administrative effectiveness, committing to consolidate the good works of the current Executive under whose mandate SLPP has won two consecutive elections. As this is a transitional period in our deeply endeared party, there is a need to have a Secretary-General who is a unifier, a strategist, a true grassroots man, very composed with integrity, strong administrative acumen, and experience. This will unify the party with stronger internal cohesion, enhanced grassroots mobilization, and the SLPP government giving power to the SLPP.
Adding that SLPP has always been the vanguard of progressive governance in Sierra Leone, and to maintain our dominance, Sarjoh is the only possible way.
He acknowledged the contribution of MPs to the party and stressed the importance of collaboration and teamwork, noting his strategic action plan will address contemporary political challenges in the SLPP which includes but not limited to strengthening the party’s governance architecture at all levels, increasing membership both within Sierra Leone and across the diaspora, creating Leadership academy and empowering women, youth, elders and individuals with disabilities.
His candidacy brings to the table a wealth of experience spanning over two decades which includes notable roles within United Nations operations across Africa, as well as significant contributions to both the public sector and non-governmental organizations. This diverse background positions him as a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of both international and national governance landscapes that underscores his capability to steer the SLPP’s administrative leadership with efficiency and innovation.
Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara reflects the rich diversity of Sierra Leone. He is from Kailahun and Bombali, completed his Selective Entrance in Makeni, and pursued secondary education in Bo and Freetown.
His declaration in Parliament was given a resounding applause from caucus leaders of various districts and other members of parliament.
