Sierra Leone Embassy in Russia Appeals for Patience Among Students Amid Stipend Delays

By Joseph Momoh, Daily Scope Reporter

In a recent announcement, the Sierra Leonean embassy in Russia has addressed the concerns of students regarding delays in their stipends, emphasizing its commitment to ongoing dialogue with authorities in Freetown.

The embassy acknowledged that students are aware of the ongoing discussions with key government bodies, including the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education and the Ministry of Finance, aimed at resolving the stipend issue. However, the embassy expressed regret that the student body chose to publicize their grievances despite these efforts.

While recognizing the urgency of the stipend payments, the embassy urged students to exercise patience and to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy as their primary communication channels.

“We are committed to keeping students informed about any developments regarding stipend payments,” the embassy stated. “Updates will be made available through official channels, and we remain open to inquiries or concerns from students and their representatives.”

In closing, the Sierra Leonean embassy in Moscow reaffirmed its dedication to supporting all Sierra Leonean students studying in the Russian Federation.
