Significant Sentences at Sefadu High Court Reaffirm Justice Commitment

Justice Augustine K. Mũsa presided over a series of high-profile criminal cases at the Sefadu High Court D.O. Barracks in Koidu City, issuing significant sentences that underscore the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to justice.

In a particularly distressing case, Mohamed Conteh was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of an eight-year-old primary school student. Justice Mũsa expressed deep concern over the increasing frequency of such incidents, despite ongoing efforts by First Lady Fatima Jabbie Maada Bio to safeguard children.

In a separate case, Alice Kumba Kaimondo received a 12-month prison sentence for intentionally causing serious bodily harm to Alpha Kaimondo on Christmas Day 2024 in Biama Tankaro Chiefdom.

Ibrahim Rogers was sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter related to a fatal incident that occurred on January 5, 2025, in Koidu City’s Resettlement Area.

Alie Maculley faced a 48-month sentence after being convicted of housebreaking and theft. Additionally, Mohamed Kanu and David Kamara, both of whom pleaded guilty to manslaughter, received ten-year sentences. The offenders expressed remorse and sought leniency prior to their sentencing.
