The Sierra Leone Police have arrested Wara Kanu, a resident of Agriculture Road in Makali Town, following an anonymous tip-off regarding the unlawful possession of ammunition.
Acting on the information, officers from the Operations Team of the Magburaka Division apprehended Kanu after discovering three cartons containing fifty-two live rounds of single-barrel shotgun cartridges. The suspect was unable to produce a license for the ammunition.
A subsequent search of Kanu’s residence revealed an additional three cartons, also containing fifty-two live cartridges, all of which were confirmed to be possessed unlawfully.
Wara Kanu, along with the seized ammunition, is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
