Mohamed Sesay, a resident of Titambaya Village in Nimikoro Chiefdom, has been arrested by police from the Motema Division in Kono District for allegedly possessing nine bundles of dried leaves believed to be cannabis sativa, commonly referred to as “jamba.”
The arrest occurred on Saturday, April 6, 2025, following credible information from community members who reported suspicious activity. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, Inspector Hassan L. Sesay, head of the Kumao Police Post, led a team to the scene.
During the operation, the suspected narcotics were discovered hidden in the bedroom of one Debora Fomba but found within the compound of Sheku Kamara. This action is part of an intensified effort by law enforcement to enhance patrols and checkpoint monitoring throughout the district.
Mohamed Sesay is currently in custody while investigations continue into the origin and intended destination of the seized substances. Law enforcement officials have praised the proactive role of community members in assisting with this operation, reiterating the need for continued public support in combating illegal drug trafficking and ensuring neighborhood safety.
