The Poet’s Heart

By: Elizabeth A. Kaine

It was a warm summer evening when they first met. Sophia, a bookstore owner, was hosting a poetry reading event, and Jack, a traveling writer, happened to stumble upon it. As he listened to her read her own poetry, he was captivated by her voice and the sparkle in her eyes.

After the event, they struck up a conversation, and Sophia learned that Jack was passing through town for just one night. She offered to show him the local hidden gems, and they spent the evening wandering under the stars, sharing stories and laughter.

As the night drew to a close, Jack walked Sophia home, his arm brushing against hers. They stood outside her doorstep, reluctant to say goodbye. Jack took Sophia’s hand, and she felt a jolt of electricity.

“I don’t want to leave,” he whispered.

“Then don’t,” Sophia replied, her heart racing.

And so, Jack stayed. They spent the next few days exploring the town together, their connection growing stronger with each passing moment.

As Jack prepared to leave, Sophia realized she had fallen deeply in love with him. “Come back to me,” she whispered.

“I will,” Jack promised. “I’ll come back to you, no matter where my travels take me.”

And so, their love story began, a tale of serendipity, adventure, and the unbreakable bond between two souls meant to be together.
