Musa Kambia has been sentenced to three years in prison following a conviction for obtaining money under false pretenses. The ruling was delivered by Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1.
Kambia’s conviction, which breaches Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916, arose from an incident that took place on April 11, 2025. He was charged on April 19, 2025, by Sergeant 8975 Bangura I.S. The prosecution established that Kambia deceitfully claimed to know the whereabouts of Christian Alphaso Gilo Blake’s missing son, Charles Blake, and fraudulently obtained twenty-five Leones (NLe 25) from Mr. Blake.
During the court proceedings, Magistrate Jah reviewed the testimonies and evidence presented, including witness cross-examinations. He concluded that the evidence against Kambia was persuasive and warranted a custodial sentence.
In delivering the sentence, Magistrate Jah emphasized the need for justice, resulting in Kambia being remanded to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown for three years.
