The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the United Arab Emirates has announced that the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has declared a two-month amnesty period for individuals with expired visas.
The amnesty period, which commenced on September 1, 2024, and will conclude on October 31, 2024, allows individuals who have overstayed their tourist or residency visas to regularize their visa status without incurring fines, administrative fees, or bans.
Designated immigration centers have been established in all Emirates, where individuals can apply in person or online through the Federal Authority’s website.
The Sierra Leonean Embassy urges all its nationals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other Emirates to take advantage of this opportunity before the deadline. The Embassy reaffirms its commitment to serving the interests and welfare of its citizens in the UAE.
