Moyamba – November 18, 2024, at approximately 10:00 PM, Robert Lebbie, the town chief of Pujuhun Village in the Kori Chiefdom of Moyamba District, was notified of a disturbing case involving the alleged sexual assault of a ten-year-old girl by her uncle, Idrissa Bangura.
According to reports, the victim, who resides with the perpetrator—her sister’s husband—described the incident in harrowing detail. The girl, a fourth-grade student at RC Primary School in Pujuhun Village, recounted that during her sister’s absence, her uncle summoned her into his room, where he undressed her and sexually assaulted her. She expressed feelings of helplessness, stating, “I wanted to resist him, but he is stronger than I am. I never expected such an act from him.”
After the assault, the victim, who experienced physical trauma and bleeding, sought immediate help from her grandmother, Mamy Bangura, a trusted family member. Without delay, Mamy Bangura reported the incident to Chief Lebbie, who is recognized as a community leader and custodian of local safety. Chief Lebbie then contacted Police Constable James M. S. Kowa (PC-16096) to initiate an investigation and ensure appropriate police intervention.
The community is now awaiting further developments as authorities address this grave situation.
