Humunatu Agnes Gbla, a Freetown businesswoman, has been remanded in custody for allegedly unleashing a vicious attack on her partner, Ibrahim Tarawalli, leaving him with grievous bodily harm.

On August 7, 2024, photographer Mohamed Kolleh witnessed the altercation at Parsonage Street, Kissy. Tarawalli was bleeding from the hand, while Gbla instructed someone to restrain him.

Tarawalli claimed Gbla owed him a substantial debt for goods supplied. The community chief intervened, promising Gbla would settle her debt. However, Gbla withheld Tarawalli’s phone, sparking further tensions.

Gbla faces three charges: Causing Grievous Bodily Harm with intent, Wounding, and Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura denied bail and remanded Gbla to the Female Correctional Center in Freetown. The case continues on September 26, 2024.
