IT WAS NOT KOROMA: SAM-SUMANA REVEALS WHO BETRAYED HIM

Former Vice President and All People’s Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Chief Samuel Sam-Sumana, has broken his silence on the political crisis that led to his removal from office, saying former President Ernest Bai Koroma was not behind his predicament.

Sam-Sumana made the revelation during an appearance on AYV’s State of the Nation programme, where he reflected on his relationship with the former President and the events that led to his sacking as Vice President.

According to Sam-Sumana, he has now come to realize that Koroma was not working against him, but rather individuals from his own circle were responsible for his political downfall.

“I came to realise that it was not former President Ernest Bai Koroma who was working against me, but people from my own backyard. I came to this realisation after they confessed,” Sam-Sumana said.

The former Vice President said his new understanding followed confessions made to him by the individuals involved, though he did not disclose their identities nor provide details of the alleged confessions.

Sam-Sumana’s statement marks a significant shift from his previous position on the political fallout that saw him expelled from the APC and removed as Vice President in 2015.

His comments are expected to stir fresh debate within the APC as the party prepares for its upcoming presidential flagbearer contest, in which Sam-Sumana is an aspirant.
