The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has convened key stakeholders to discuss the implementation of the WanGov and GoPay services, initiatives designed to enhance public sector reform. This effort aligns with President Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Game Changers, aiming to revolutionize public service delivery across the nation.
In a recent meeting, discussions focused on the rollout of WanGov and GoPay, a digital government platform set to transform how government services are provided. Dr. Sengeh underscored the importance of public sector reform and the role of technology in enhancing government efficiency.
Representatives from various government ministries, including Finance, Transport, the National Revenue Authority, Port Authority, and the Attorney General’s Office, participated in the discussions. The WanGov and GoPay platform aims to improve government-citizen interactions, support service delivery, enhance revenue generation, and uphold law and order, ultimately reshaping public administration and fostering citizen engagement.
Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation, Madam Haja Salima Monorma Bah, emphasized the platform’s significance in driving public sector reform, highlighting its potential to enhance efficiency and accessibility for citizens. Collaborations with key institutions, including the Administrator General’s Office and SLRSA, have already yielded promising results. Successful implementations in countries like Rwanda, Kenya, and the UK serve as valuable models.
Mr. Dama from the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation presented a comprehensive overview of WanGov and GoPay’s functionalities. This platform will allow citizens to easily access, pay for, and track government services in real-time, significantly improving overall service delivery and citizen experience.
