In a historic move, Pujehun District is set to unveil its first-ever clock tower, fulfilling a key developmental promise made by District Council Chairman Foday Kandeh Rogers Sr. The project, currently under construction at Gobaru Main Junction, represents a significant milestone in the district’s journey towards modernization and infrastructure development.

Chairman Rogers, who campaigned under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) during the 2023 general elections, pledged in his manifesto to construct the clock tower, install solar street lights across Pujehun, and implement various other initiatives aimed at enhancing local infrastructure. Motivated by a vision for progress, the residents of Pujehun overwhelmingly supported Rogers, inspired by his ambitious plans for the district.

Just months after taking office, Chairman Rogers initiated the clock tower project, demonstrating his commitment to his campaign promises. Acknowledging the financial demands of the project, he sought support from local stakeholders and government officials. Notably, Chief Minister Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, a son of Pujehun District, played a crucial role in funding the initiative, alongside several other local contributors.

Residents have praised Chairman Rogers for his proactive and transparent leadership, referring to him as a “man of his word.” The clock tower is now approximately 60% complete, and anticipation is growing among locals as they look forward to its completion and the rollout of other promised projects, including the installation of solar street lights.

As the clock tower takes shape, it stands not only as a new landmark for Pujehun but also as a symbol of progress and accountability in local governance.
