In a significant initiative to combat drug abuse, Minister of Youth Affairs Ibrahim Sannoh has intervened to assist over 41 victims affected by kush in the Central and Susan’s Bay communities. The victims are currently receiving treatment at Connaught Hospital, where Minister Sannoh is personally covering their medical and nutritional expenses.
This intervention is part of Minister Sannoh’s ongoing campaign to address kush abuse among the nation’s youth. Once the victims achieve medical stability, the Ministry plans to offer certified training programs aimed at equipping them with new skills, enabling them to rebuild their lives and reduce the likelihood of relapse into drug use.
“The young people affected by this crisis deserve a second chance,” Minister Sannoh stated. “It is crucial that we move beyond discussions and provide tangible support.”
This effort forms a key part of the government’s broader strategy to tackle drug abuse and foster the well-being of the country’s youth.
