FREETOWN — The High Court of Sierra Leone has found former All Peoples Congress (APC) Deputy National Publicity Secretary Mohamed Pope Kamara guilty of contempt of court, fining him Le10,000 and barring him from media engagements for 60 days.

The ruling was handed down on Monday, 19th October 2026, by Justice Adrian Fisher.

Kamara was cited for contempt for allegedly continuing to parade himself as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC despite a subsisting court order restraining him from doing so.

Delivering his ruling, Justice Fisher imposed a fine of Ten Thousand New Leones (Le10,000) on the contemnor, with an alternative custodial sentence of 14 days at the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road should he default.

The court further ordered that Kamara shall not grant any media interview nor post any material on social media for a period of 60 days as part of the sanctions.

According to the court order, the fine must be paid within three hours of the ruling, failing which the alternative jail term will take effect.

The decision is the latest development in the internal legal wrangling within the main opposition All Peoples Congress.
