The National Youth Leadership Summit, an annual event that has positively impacted over 5,000 young people since its inception in 2018, is gearing up for its 8th iteration. Scheduled for November 27–30, 2025, this year’s summit will take place at the Sierra Leone House of Parliament in Freetown. The theme, “Youth Advancing Multilateral Cooperation through Technology and Partnership,” emphasizes collaborative innovation and global engagement among youth.
In a significant step towards strengthening youth advocacy, the Youth and Children Advocacy Panel (YACAP) and the Youth Leadership Advocacy (YLA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly organize and implement the summit. This partnership aims to enhance outreach, unify efforts on pressing youth issues, and improve coordination for effective event delivery.
YLA has been a prominent voice for young people across Sierra Leone, advocating for policy reforms and inclusive development. Collaborating with YACAP, known for its strategic grassroots mobilization, marks a pivotal moment in youth-led progress, driven by unity and shared purpose.
The collaboration highlights the transformative power of partnerships among youth-serving organizations. By leveraging their collective strengths, YACAP and YLA aim to develop actionable solutions and elevate youth perspectives in governance. The summit will convene youth leaders, policymakers, technology experts, and development partners in a forum dedicated to championing multilateral cooperation and innovative strategies for national development.
