The Transnational Organised Crime Unit has intercepted a large consignment of suspected Tramadol tablets during a raid in central Freetown.
The operation was carried out on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Patton Street, via Mama Yoko Street, and was led by Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh and other senior officers.
Police said they moved swiftly to intercept the drugs and arrest individuals allegedly connected to the consignment. Several cartons of substances believed to be Tramadol were seized at the scene.
The suspects, along with the seized substances, have been taken to the TOCU headquarters for further investigation and forensic analysis.
Reports from the area also claim that a man known only as “Skinny” was allegedly killed during the incident. Authorities have not confirmed whether the reported death is directly linked to the police operation, and details remain unclear.
The Sierra Leone Police said investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided.
