The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) has made a significant contribution to livestock health in Pujehun District by donating essential vaccines and medical supplies. This initiative, which includes Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) vaccines, aims to prevent disease outbreaks and strengthen the well-being of local livestock.

The donation was officially presented at the MAFS office in Pujehun. Joseph Samai, from the Directorate of Livestock and Veterinary Services, highlighted the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to bolstering the veterinary sector. “This initiative ensures that both ruminants and domestic animals receive the necessary vaccinations to guard against diseases,” Samai remarked.

District Livestock Officer Mariama Fofana expressed her appreciation for the timely assistance, noting that the Pujehun District Council had recently taken steps to address animal health issues. She described the Ministry’s support as a “blessing in disguise” and assured stakeholders that the resources would be effectively utilized.

Lucy Koker, the District Agriculture Officer, welcomed the vaccine donation as a “positive step forward.” She committed to mobilizing her veterinary team to cover the entire district, urging community members to collaborate closely with her staff to ensure that all animals receive the necessary vaccinations.
