In a significant move towards enhancing medical education in Sierra Leone, President Julius Maada Bio visited the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) today to tour the newly inaugurated skills lab, which features advanced Anatomage technology. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to providing students with innovative educational resources.
During his visit, President Bio highlighted the importance of the Anatomage platform, calling it a “state-of-the-art digital expression of the entire human body.” He pointed out that this technology offers a contemporary alternative to traditional cadaver-based learning, which can present various social and cultural challenges. The Anatomage system enables students to visualize, manipulate, and virtually dissect the human body, fostering an immersive and interactive educational experience.
“This technology is vital for developing human capital,” President Bio remarked. “It equips our medical students with the essential knowledge and skills to compete on a global scale. Anatomage is recognized worldwide for excellence in medical education.”
The President’s visit serves as a reaffirmation of Sierra Leone’s commitment to modernizing healthcare training, ensuring that future medical professionals are prepared to meet international standards.
