Police and Wraps of Kush

A significant incident has emerged in Northeast Sierra Leone, where police officers from the regional headquarters in Makeni executed a raid on the residence of the NCO at Mile 91 Police Station, uncovering more than 200 wraps of kush.

The operation was prompted by intelligence suggesting the presence of a drug syndicate linked to the station, allegedly involving the Crime Officer, NCO Swaray. In response, the regional commander dispatched a team from Makeni to conduct a thorough search of Swaray’s home.

During the raid, officers reportedly discovered the illegal substance, leading to Swaray’s immediate transfer from Mile 91 to the Makeni police headquarters. As of Monday night, November 3, 2025, sources confirmed that Swaray was in custody at the regional headquarters, following orders for open detention until investigations could commence the next morning.

An unnamed police source, speaking off the record, indicated that Swaray had previously submitted a case file related to the drug allegations. Intelligence reports further suggest that he may be involved in a broader drug syndicate in collaboration with an alleged Tramadol dealer known locally as “Same Face,” who is purported to be the largest distributor of Tramadol in the Mile 91 area.

The public is closely monitoring this high-profile case, eager to see how it unfolds and whether the police will conduct a transparent investigation.
