The High Commission of India in Freetown hosted a significant press conference yesterday, November 19, 2025, at its venue on Aberdeen Road. High Commissioner B.C. Pradhan emphasized the importance of the upcoming public exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism,” scheduled for November 21 to 23 at the Freetown City Council Lobby. The conference aimed to shed light on the severe impact of terrorism on human lives and the global collaborative efforts to combat this pressing issue.

Pradhan stated, “The exhibition aims to highlight the tragic consequences of terrorist acts worldwide,” underlining the necessity of promoting dialogue and awareness. The exhibition will showcase various displays and visual narratives that illustrate the immense human suffering caused by terrorism, as well as the initiatives taken by the international community to prevent future atrocities. He pointed out that the repercussions of terrorism extend beyond immediate loss of life, affecting entire societies, economies, and futures.

The High Commissioner called for unified global action, stating that addressing terrorism requires cooperation across borders, nationalities, and cultures. He referenced several global incidents that have reshaped security thinking, particularly devastating attacks in India, noting their broader implications for developing nations. Pradhan remarked, “With Central and West Africa facing increasing security challenges from extremist groups, fostering regional cooperation is crucial.”

During the conference, Pradhan invited media representatives and civil society organizations to actively participate in this critical dialogue, reiterating that a collective response is essential. He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi: “Terrorism has no borders, no values, and no humanity,” reinforcing the idea that combating terrorism is a shared global responsibility.

This press conference not only laid the groundwork for the upcoming exhibition but also emphasized the commitment to fostering peace, stability, and cooperation among nations. As the world continues to confront the threat of terrorism, events like this serve as important platforms for raising awareness and encouraging collaboration.
