Freetown, Sierra Leone – On November 24, 2025, law enforcement in the Freetown West Region dealt a significant blow to drug traffickers with the seizure of three barrels and three cartons of dried leaves believed to be kush, following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
Under the supervision of Regional Commander AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, police acted on actionable intelligence and executed the operation across multiple locations.
Two of the seized barrels were recovered from a Serena vehicle (registration ALA-080) driven by Yussif Sesay, who has since been taken into custody. Another barrel was intercepted from a Toyota taxi (registration API-156) near the Adonkia Cemetery in Goderich. Authorities also discovered three cartons of suspected kush at a nearby residence owned by a woman identified as Patricia, who is currently evading capture.
During initial questioning, driver Yussif Sesay stated that he had been hired by one Abdul Rahman Sesay to transport the barrels. Both men are now in custody as authorities continue their search for the taxi driver, who fled the scene.
All seized items have been secured and will undergo forensic laboratory analysis to confirm their contents.
This operation underscores the commitment of AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma and his team to intensifying the fight against illegal drug activities in the region, reinforcing their determination to combat drug trafficking in Freetown West.
