A grave incident unfolded on November 26, 2025, at Freetown International Airport (Lungi) involving members of the Presidential Guard of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF). Corporal Steven (RSLAF 18181456) is now considered a suspect in the fatal shooting of his superior, Warrant Officer Class One Moses Brima Kabba.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the shooting occurred during a heated dispute over the allocation of monetary tokens distributed by the Vice President prior to his departure. Corporal Steven is alleged to have confronted Officer Kabba over accusations of withholding funds intended for the Presidential Guard members.
The tokens, routinely given to guards during the President or Vice President’s travels, have been a source of tension in the past due to disputes over their distribution. Following the President’s return from Angola, it is reported that Officer Kabba failed to share the funds with his subordinates, inciting the confrontation that led to this tragic outcome.
Law enforcement agencies and military officials, including the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and RSLAF, have initiated a collaborative investigation into the incident. The body of Warrant Officer Kabba has been transported to Lungi Government Hospital for further examination.
As investigations remain ongoing, authorities are actively pursuing Corporal Steven. No additional information has been released at this time.
