Pathologist: Sia Fatu Kamara Died from Manual Strangulation

Government pathologist Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma testified in court on Tuesday, stating that Sia Fatu Kamara’s death resulted from manual strangulation due to physical assault, as detailed in the official autopsy report.

During his testimony, Dr. Koroma explained that medical evidence indicated asphyxia caused by external compression of the neck, leading to a fatal lack of oxygen. He highlighted key findings from the post-mortem examination, asserting that the injuries observed were consistent with manual strangulation rather than any alternative cause of death.

The autopsy report, according to Dr. Koroma, documented specific injuries and physiological signs that corroborated his conclusion of an assault involving pressure on the neck. His testimony is a critical component of the prosecution’s case, as it seeks to establish a medical foundation for the charges presently before the court.

As the trial continues, the defense is anticipated to cross-examine the expert witnesses and present its own evidence. However, no additional details concerning the charges, suspects, or the next hearing date were revealed during the court session.
