Ultimatum Issued to Accord Logistics CEO Over Lottery Salary Delays

By Joseph Momoh, D.S. Reporter

In a swift move to address employee grievances, the Parliamentary Committee on Trade and Industry has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Johnny Kouza, CEO of Accord Logistics. The directive demands immediate settlement of overdue salaries owed to employees of the Sierra Leone State Lottery.

The ultimatum follows mounting complaints from lottery staff regarding several months of unpaid wages, prompting lawmakers to scrutinize Accord Logistics’ adherence to its contractual obligations. Committee Chair Hon. Veronica Sesay emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, “We mandate that all outstanding salaries be cleared within 24 hours. Additionally, we require full disclosure of the joint account held between Accord Logistics and the State Lottery. Non-compliance will lead to severe repercussions.”

Furthermore, the Committee has called for increased transparency in the management of funds related to the State Lottery, insisting that Accord Logistics furnish all pertinent financial details within the stipulated timeframe. Parliament reiterated its commitment to safeguarding workers’ rights and holding companies accountable for public-private agreements. Authorities warned that any further delays or failures could provoke additional parliamentary or legal actions.
