Sierra Leone Embassy in UAE Honors Outgoing Head of Chancery, Welcomes Successor

Abu Dhabi, UAE – February 11, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Embassy in the United Arab Emirates held a ceremony to bid farewell to outgoing Head of Chancery, Mrs. Menah Bando Fillie-Faboe, and to welcome her successor, Mohamed Sorie Conteh, Esq.

During the event at the Embassy, Ambassador Rashid Sesay expressed gratitude for Mrs. Fillie-Faboe’s dedicated service, highlighting her contributions that led to numerous achievements during her tenure. “Your name will be forever etched in the history of this Embassy,” Ambassador Sesay remarked. “We will miss you dearly and wish you the best in your future endeavors.”

He also extended a warm welcome to Mr. Conteh, noting the Embassy’s familial atmosphere and expressing optimism for a harmonious working relationship ahead.

Mrs. Fillie-Faboe expressed her heartfelt thanks to the staff for their support throughout her time at the Embassy. She also extended her best wishes to Mr. Conteh as he embarks on his new role.

The incoming Head of Chancery acknowledged the kind sentiments shared by staff members regarding Mrs. Fillie-Faboe’s impactful service. He pledged to foster teamwork and collaboration among the Embassy staff to achieve collective goals.

The ceremony concluded with an official handover between the outgoing and incoming Heads of Chancery, marking a new chapter for the Sierra Leone Embassy in the UAE.
