A man was arrested on February 14, 2026, by a joint team of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) and the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) at the Mile 38 checkpoint in Masiaka Division. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking along key transit routes.
The arrested individual, identified as Amadu Koroma, a resident of Masumana Village in the Koya Chiefdom of Port Loko District, was found in possession of a significant quantity of drugs purportedly linked to the Government’s Free Healthcare program. Notably, some of the medicines in his possession were reported to be expired at the time of seizure.
