Information and Civic Education Minister Chernor Bah is leading Sierra Leone’s delegation to the Women Deliver Conference 2026, joining global leaders to push for stronger protections and opportunities for women and girls.

Bah is serving as Speaker and Co-Chair of the Global Programme to End Child Marriage, where he outlined Sierra Leone’s push to end the practice within a generation. He told delegates that President Julius Maada Bio’s approach hinges on policy reform, sustained investment in education, strict enforcement, and broad-based collective action.

The minister is also taking part in high-level sessions on ending violence against women and girls and will feature in the closing plenary. On the sidelines, he is holding bilateral and strategic meetings with international partners to advance Sierra Leone’s gender agenda.

Sierra Leone’s presence at the conference underscores government’s commitment to eliminating child marriage, expanding rights for women and girls, and translating policy into measurable outcomes.
