OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT
The general public is informed of the passing of Joseph Samba Keifala, fondly known as J.S Keifala, former Mayor of Kenema City. He died on Saturday, 18th April 2026, at the Choirtham Hospital, Freetown.
Funeral activities are scheduled as follows:
Thursday 14th May 2026- Laying out at his residence, Kissy Dockyard, Freetown.
Friday 15th May 2026- Travelling to Kenema and lying of the corpse at the SLPP office Hangha Road to be followed by a Civic Memorial at the Kenema City Hall- Maada Bio Street in Kenema. There will be a vigil mass at night, at the Holy Spirit Church Dama Road and later at the Kenema City Hall.
Saturday 16th May 2026- Funural Mass at Cathedral Church to be followed by an interment at the Kenema Hero’s Squire, Hangha Road.
The former Mayor is survived by his wives: Mrs. Safula Keifala and Mrs. Hawa Keifala
Children
He is survived by several children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at home and abroad.
Several in-laws, nephews, neices, uncles and aunts.
