With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Ramatu Bangura, who left us on June 4, 2026.
To so many students at the Fourah Bay College hostel, she was more than a market woman — she was a second mother. Her generosity knew no bounds. She would lend you food even when you had no money, and often forgot the debt the next day. She woke up in the middle of the night, stood under heavy rains, and served any stranded student who needed a meal.
Her kindness touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to be fed, loved, and cared for by her.
