Stephen Barnes, the architect behind the GO-FOR-GOLD Program, recently led a delegation of foreign investors from the United States, Germany, and India in a courtesy visit to Rt. Hon. Speaker Segepoh Solomon Thomas on October 27, 2025.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed a keen interest in investing in Sierra Leone, praising the country’s open-door policy and friendly populace. Barnes emphasized their commitment to promoting direct foreign investment and urged the Speaker to facilitate the parliamentary ratification of relevant agreements.

He reassured the Speaker that their investment vision aligns closely with President Bio’s agenda for sustainable development in Sierra Leone. In response, Speaker Thomas welcomed the investors, commending their intentions and reiterating the country’s readiness to engage with genuine investors.

The Speaker highlighted that the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic is dedicated to enacting laws that protect both local citizens and investors. He affirmed the commitment to supporting agreements that can lead to meaningful investments in the nation.

The meeting underscored Sierra Leone’s potential for attracting increased foreign investment, particularly in sectors that align with national development goals. With its strategic location, competitive labor force, and appealing incentives, Sierra Leone offers significant opportunities for growth and collaboration.
