More than 10 people are feared dead after a shipping container toppled onto victims along the Rokel–Waterloo Highway on Thursday, plunging the community into mourning.
The incident occurred in Rokel near the Rokel Container terminal. Initial reports put the death toll at six, but updated accounts from the scene now indicate more than 10 fatalities. The exact number has not yet been confirmed by police.
Eyewitnesses said the container fell under circumstances that remain unclear, crushing people at the roadside. Authorities have not released an official statement, and investigators are working to establish what caused the container to fall.
