Minister Bah Receives S/L Mission Newsletters in Geneva

Honourable Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor Abdulai Bah, has received the first three editions of the Sierra Leone Permanent Mission’s newsletters

Geneva, Switzerland, November 1, 2025 – The Honourable Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor Abdulai Bah, has received the first three editions of the Sierra Leone Permanent Mission’s newsletters during a presentation in Geneva. The handover was conducted by Mr. Edward Kawa, Head of Chancery and Minister Counsellor, on behalf of Ambassador Dr. Lansana Gberie, who represents Sierra Leone at the United Nations and other international organizations.

These newsletters, coordinated by Information Attaché Mr. Mohamed Sheriff, detail the Mission’s key activities and engagements at both multilateral and bilateral levels. They also highlight the Mission’s contributions to international dialogues and feature significant global events involving President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Minister Bah, who was in Geneva following his participation in the Paris Peace Forum from October 27 to 31, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Kawa at the VIP reception area of the Geneva Airport, where he received full courtesies from the Airport Protocol Service.

During the presentation, Mr. Kawa praised Minister Bah for his innovative leadership in enhancing civic engagement, communication reforms, and governance initiatives that have bolstered transparency and public participation in national discourse. He urged the Minister to continue promoting government activities through strategic civic engagement.

In his remarks, Minister Bah expressed gratitude to Ambassador Dr. Lansana Gberie for the Mission’s effective representation in Geneva, acknowledging the teamwork that has supported the Information Attaché in fulfilling his responsibilities. He also announced plans for one of S/L’s largest national festivals in December, which will showcase the achievements, challenges, and strategic plans of various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for 2025 and beyond.

Additionally, the Minister commended Mr. Mohamed Sheriff for his commitment and professionalism in producing the newsletters, calling them “a valuable platform for highlighting S/L’s diplomatic successes and international engagements.”
