The Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation (MoCTI) has announced the signing of a Framework Agreement with the Redsalt Angel Investment Network (RAIN) to enhance support for early-stage startups in Sierra Leone.
This partnership aims to improve access to capital for emerging companies, reinforce governance within the startup ecosystem, and foster the development of scalable local ventures.
In addition, RAIN has collaborated with the Orange Digital Center through the Orange Foundation, offering founders greater access to mentorship, investment-readiness programs, and early-stage financing. Together, these agreements seek to establish a cohesive innovation ecosystem that guides entrepreneurs from concept to growth.
At the signing ceremony, MoCTI Minister Salima Bah emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships, patient capital, and intentional investment in nurturing young entrepreneurs. “With supportive government policies and our ongoing digital transformation efforts, Sierra Leone is cultivating an environment conducive to innovation, industry modernization, and entrepreneurial growth,” she stated.
Minister Bah reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with organizations that are dedicated to the advancement of Sierra Leone’s innovators. She encouraged startup founders to seize the emerging opportunities as the government advances its national innovation agenda.
