FREETOWN — The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has sealed four mining companies in Moyamba and Bonthe Districts for failing to pay annual licence fees totalling US$2,847,270.
The enforcement exercise, carried out on September 26, 2026, affected Hongtai Mining Limited, Crystal Peak Mining Limited, SH Mining Limited and Eldorado Resources Mining Company (SL) Limited.
According to the NRA, Hongtai Mining owes US$147,270, Crystal Peak Mining owes US$1 million, SH Mining owes US$1 million and Eldorado Resources owes US$700,000.
Hongtai Mining and Crystal Peak Mining operate in Kongbora Chiefdom, Moyamba District. SH Mining operates in Gbengenor Section, Lower Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba District, while Eldorado Resources operates in Sogbeni Chiefdom, Bonthe District.
The NRA said the action is aimed at recovering the outstanding liabilities and enforcing compliance with tax laws, warning that the seals will remain until the debts are fully settled.
The Authority added that enforcement operations are ongoing and further action will be taken against other companies with unpaid licence fees in line with applicable laws.
